Wallow theme v0.46.5
  • I use the Wallow theme as a kind of portfolio blog for clients I support on line. I prefer a photo of the client (i.e. user) to be displayed in the box appearing on the bottom left of the screen. You were kind enough to create a child theme "My Wallow Version 0.1 | By Twobeers.net" that do just that. However, I recently upgrade to WP 3.3 multi-site and seems to experience the following....
    1. The user image no longer appear within the box as was defined by My Wallow.
    2. I receive the following error message (from Firebug a Firefox extension) "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - http://blog.altanacommunity.co.za/wp-content/themes/wallow/print.css".

    What I did was to copy the print.css file located in "/web/wp-content/themes/wallow/css" to "/wp-content/themes/wallow/", it remove the error message but didn't solve the display problem.

    It doesn't seem to influence the basic functionality of the theme, it only appears that the screen layout in terms of the user picture and header doesn't display as it should.

    Please advice!

    Thanks again for the theme, it really works superbly for my purposes.

    Best Regards

  • Hi,
    the only problem I'm shure on is that file not found for print.css. to fix it, you should open header.php (in mywallow), and change
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php echo get_template_directory_uri().'/print.css' ?>" type="text/css" media="print"  />
    to
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php echo get_template_directory_uri().'/css/print.css' ?>" type="text/css" media="print"  />
    about the image issue, I cannot reproduce it, try refresh "MyWallow theme option" image link or reinstall both the parent and the child theme or wait till next week that I'll be back from holidays ;).
    hope it helps

  • Hi

    I made the fix as you proposed in header.php (mywallow), it worked!

    I refreshed/updated and reinstall both parent & child theme, still the same result.

    I am revamping my system and there is still lots to do. Will gladly wait till next week. There is one condition though.... THOROUGHLY enjoy the rest of your holiday.

    Thanks for taking the time to answer me, it is much appreciated. Will hear from you again during next week.
  • Here I am, back to RL ;)

    I've done several test with AltanacommunityWallow (yep, I've changed the child name, mywallow was too common ;-) ), and WP multisite, and I'm afraid I wasn't able to reproduce the issue (you can see the child live, for today only, at http://crew.twbrs.net/ilmaren/ ).

    Try upload the attached child (it's the same, but I've change the name and add the above fix), network enable it and try it.
    If it works, network disable and delete mywallow child.

    Waiting to hear some news from you soon
    Cheers

  • Done what you said, but still the same... avatar don't display.

    I had a look at the site as indicated with firebug (firefox plugin) and trying to see what is the difference between your site and mine. I notice the following....

    However, if I copy the same content address (e.g. www.blog.altanacommunity.co.za/wp-content/themes/altanacommunitywallow/images/user.png)  into the child options field, it seem to me that it isn't carry over to the browser for display.

    Hopes it helps somehow, incidentally it is also seem to be the case with the the original wallow theme. Perhaps it could be a setting on the blog.altanacommunity.co.za site; the altanacommunity.co.za network or some other plugin, what do you think?

    Best regard

  • mmm strange, looks like default gravatar function is not working on your host.
    Anyway, we don't need it for your very purpose, so lets try out this new child: AltanacommunityWallow.
    Just replace existing files.
    Follow the instruction in Appearance -> Child Theme Options.
  • Thanks a lot... again.... for your input and contribution. Everything is fine and displays as expected.

    Thanks
